  1. Common Thread

This one goes back to 1999 in Toronto. Played it live ever since then, and it deserved to be released. Could have a Latin feel, but I didn't want to make that obvious with percussion. Inspired by my EX-husband (not the real one).

Lyrics

COMMON THREAD

There must be way too many mirrors in this house
Bouncing shadows everywhere
Traits of traitors and amnesia are to blame
For why those nasty habits still remain

You are the common thread
You're what's left in the end

Oh and coincidentally
I'm crazy too
Can you imagine what the odds might be
Is it me or you
And your magnetic personality
That gets you through

You are the common thread
You're what's left in the end
You are the common thread
You're what's left in your head

You say you've known this game forever and a day
Oh give or take
When humans are involved
For heaven's sake
All those folks ever seem to do is
Get in your way

You are the common thread
You're what's left in the end
You are the common thread
You're what's left in your head
You are the common thread
How does it feel
To weave through each of life's ordeals
Ahhh
