  1. Just in Case

Some of the lyrics have been with me a long time, waiting for the opportune moment for them to be fully realized. It started out as a song about a fictional relationship of extremes, but now it gradually turns into a very particular kind of relationship, in a humorous way. If one pays close attention to the lyrics, they might begin to suspect the identity of the 'other', confirmed at the very end. Added cello, giving the subject somewhat of a 'serious' tone.

Lyrics

JUST IN CASE

Fought over and discounted
Forgotten, recognized
Tossed away and valued
Somehow hypnotized
Cheated on and cherished
Worshiped and exiled
One extreme to another
Adored and then reviled

Should I be sitting this one out
Just in case you come around
In the event you recall my scent
Digging through the lost and found
If you climb the steps to heaven
And you find my imprint there
I'll be waiting half way up
Just in case you care

Sometimes you lurk in the shadows
On your haunches ready to pounce upon
A moving target or a moving memory
That lingers on and on and on and on and

Should I be sitting this one out
Just in case you come around
Regaining your super sensory sight
Clawing through the lost and found
When you climb to heaven the ninth time
And you find my imprint there
I'll be waiting half way up
To stroke your silken hair

Gotta stick around just in case
Think I'll laze around just in case
Gotta stick around just in case
Just in case you care
Just in case you care
Just in case you care
